Oregon / Douglas Fir
Our timber. Strength, beauty and versatility.
Oregon - more correctly known as Douglas Fir - is the timber at the heart of our business.
We source our Oregon predominantly from the forests of British Columbia, Canada, where Douglas Fir is a native species and has long been recognised as a premium structural timber.
We choose it for its strength, appearance, workability and the ability to supply large solid sections and long lengths.
Where we source
Our Douglas Fir is sourced predominantly from British Columbia, Canada - one of the world's leading softwood timber regions.
The coastal and interior forests of BC produce high quality Douglas Fir with excellent structural properties. The resource base and long-established timber industry allow us to access the large dimensions and lengths that are increasingly hard to find elsewhere.
We work with trusted sawmills who share our focus on quality timber and responsible forest management.

Our timber
Much of our Oregon arrives in large flitch sections. We resaw, dress and finish it in our Dandenong facility to your exact requirements.
This gives us the flexibility to produce custom sizes, unusual sections and long lengths that aren’t available as standard.
Our Oregon is available in structural grades including F7. FB (FOHC). F11 (FOHC) and Kiln Dried No. 2 Clear. H3 treatment is available for suitable above-ground external applications.
