Exposed beams, trusses & structural Oregon
Solid timber. Long lengths. Cut for your project.
Canadian Oregon (Douglas Fir) is specified for strength, stability and the natural beauty of real timber.
We supply large-section Oregon for exposed beams, posts, trusses, verandahs and architectural structures, cut to the dimensions and lengths you need.
Made for substantial timber structures
Large sections
Beams, posts and structural members cut to project requirements.
Long lengths
Long solid lengths available for applications where joins, laminations or finger-jointed timber are undesirable.
Cut to size
Each order can be sawn and machined to the dimensions required.
Fast turnaround
Most cut-to-size orders can be produced within approximately 2–3 working days.
Timber that is meant to be seen
Oregon's warm colour, strong grain and ability to be supplied in substantial sections make it a natural choice for architectural structures.
· Exposed beams · Feature trusses · Posts
· Verandahs · Pergolas · Fascia

Structural grades you can rely on
Our timber is graded in-house by certified timber graders. We regularly produce structural Oregon in grades including:
F7 · F8 · F8 FOHC · F11 FOHC
FOHC – Free of Heart Centre – removes the unstable centre or pith of the log and is particularly important for large exposed sections where stability and appearance matter.
Need help specifying the right grade? Talk to us before ordering.
Green or kiln dried
Most large structural Oregon is supplied green, allowing us to offer the large dimensions and long lengths required.
For applications requiring greater dimensional stability or a finer finished appearance, kiln-dried Oregon is available in selected grades and sizes.
We can advise which is appropriate for your project.
For external applications
Oregon performs well externally when it is correctly detailed and protected.
For exposed applications we recommend FOHC timber, keeping posts clear of the ground and protecting the timber from prolonged moisture exposure.
H3 treatment is also available where additional protection against decay, termites and borers is required. We can arrange treatment as part of your order.
From one beam to a complete structure
You don't need to arrive with a finished timber schedule. Tell us what you're building, the approximate sizes and lengths you need and whether the timber will be exposed. Our team can help you work through the appropriate grade, dimensions, finish and treatment.
We hold substantial Oregon stock in Melbourne and cut each order in-house.
